Drop a pin, make a request with Durango’s new reporting tool

SeeClickFix

Durango, CO: The City of Durango invites residents to drop a pin on an interactive online map and make a request, using the city’s new public reporting system SeeClickFix.

SeeClickFix allows anyone to report quality-of-life issues around town and request city services. Residents can interact with city staff through the free SeeClickFix mobile app or web tool, by providing staff with pictures, specific locations, and descriptions of things around the city that need fixing.

This service will replace the city’s previous reporting system, Ask Durango, providing greater functionality and a centralized issue management system to manage issues from creation to resolution that engages residents throughout the process.

Request categories include:

  • Abandon Vehicles
  • Animal Control
  • Blight
  • Graffiti
  • Illegal Dumping
  • Parks, Playgrounds, Trails, and Open Spaces
  • Potholes
  • Private Property Issues
  • Sidewalk damage
  • Streetlight, Street Sign and Traffic signal issues
  • Trash and Recycling
  • Trees
  • Utilities
  • Unsanctioned Camping
  • City Manager’s Office
  • Wildlife
  • Excessive Noise

Using SeeClickFix is as simple as clicking the “See Click Fix” button on the city’s webpage,

And then “New Request”submit request 2

Users will then be able to place a pin on the map where they’d like to make a request. Pins dropped outside of city limits will show an error message at the bottom of the screen because that is outside of the city’s service area. Once a pin is dropped within city limits, residents will be asked to select a request category, provide a picture if possible, and give a description. Then the request may be submitted, and city staff can get to work resolving the issue.

Residents can even create their own “watch areas” within SeeClickFix to receive notifications about all requested reported in their specific neighborhood.

The SeeClickFix mobile app is available for download on Android and iPhone. In addition to the mobile apps, citizens can access SeeClickFix through the city’s website or through seeclickfix.com.
