THE DURANGO - LA PLATA COUNTY AIRPORT (DRO) is the primary regional airport for southwest Colorado, northwest New Mexico and the Four Corners. DRO welcomed more than 390,000 passengers in 2019 and contributes $293 million annually to the regional economy. DRO is served by American Airlines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines. Our airport now hosts year-round daily non-stop service to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Denver (DEN) and Phoenix (PHX). Twice-weekly nonstop service to Las Vegas (LAS) and seasonal nonstop service to Los Angeles (LAX) is also available. Please check with your airline for real-time updates to their schedules.

Runway rehabilitation and closure
The Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) will be rehabilitating Runway 3/21 in September 2022. A full runway closure is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 7 – Friday, Sept. 16, 2022. Learn more.

DRO Terminal Development Project

The deadline to have a REAL ID for air travel has been postponed to May 3, 2023 by the Department of Homeland Security.
